Where does the name Trioro come from?

It took us quite a while (we almost came to drastic measures) to decide on a name. So many names were already taken, or at least the website was, and we wanted to be original. So, we decided to make one up. “Tri” for three - as Marc, Scott, and I founded the company and “Oro” derived from the Greek work “Oros,” which means mountain. We liked the sound of Trioro better than Trioros.

Why mountain? Two reasons - our future and our past. Building a great business is big mountain to climb - an adventure and challenge we’re striving to help others be successful at. As you may have noticed, we’ve also made “climbing your mountain” the theme of our website and business titles.

Climbing is also a part of our past. In the summer of 2000 at Queen’s University, while Scott and I were managing the student photocopy shop, and Marc was working for the university, we spent a lot of time at the local climbing gym The Boiler Room. It was a great time, and we still climb today.
